The governance structure of SIL-Nepal embraces a collaborative approach, involving multiple stakeholders to ensure effective management and decision-making. While the specific structure will be developed later, an initial proposed framework consists of a steering committee chaired by the QSRD of MOHP, with its secretariat. This committee provides overall strategic guidance, establishes goals and priorities, and oversees the lab’s activities.
Steering Committee
The basic composition of the steering committee of SIL-Nepal is as follows to start with.
· Chief of QSRD/MOHP– Chair
· Director of Management Division, DoHS – Member
· Chief of IHIMS. DoHS – Member
· Representative from DOIT, – Member
· Chief of digital health section, MOHP – Member Secretary
Additionally, there are several other committees such as the Developers committee, Standards committee, Testing and Certification committee, Quality Assurance committee, and a user community.
Technical Advisory Group/Working CommitteeTo provide technical guidance, a technical advisory group consisting of experts in interoperability configuration, programming, and lab maintenance is established. This group offers overall technical expertise and guidance. Furthermore, technical working groups are formed as needed. These groups comprise experts and professionals with specific domain knowledge in areas such as interoperability, standards development, data exchange, and technology implementation. They work on dedicated projects, research, and development initiatives to advance interoperability and provide technical insights to the lab.
